90.03km. 1,424m ascent. 5h23 ride time
Probably the most beautiful days regarding scenery. Really a great ride through the lush, green, Virginia forests. Not too hot and we had plenty of shade. Always very humid though. Only one long climb which wasn’t steep at all, just a pleasure to ride.
Our overnight was a church with bunk room. The bunk room was 200m from the church which had the (very good) shower, so it was a bit of a hike on the hill to get washed. Right up on top of the hill was the ‘pavilion’ with cooker, fridge, coffee machine etc. Water was from the tap in the field, but drinkable (actually tasted good) but we were able to cook our supper and share it with the English guy Matt, which whom we had already spent the last evening in the other church hostel. He didn’t ride with us, but did arrive about the same time.
