Up at 05:30 to get an early start just to hear the thunder and a huge storm outside our window. We decided to postpone our start until after the rain had eased.
Neither Stef nor I were feeling particularly vigorous this morning despite a good nights sleep and decent food the evening before at the Triple E BBQ on Lake Egypt
By 10:00we had reached Shotgun Eddy’s for a coke and we were able to dry up a little. Soaked from both rain and sweat, I don’t know which was the majority.
By 12 we had arrived at Elizabethtown and went to the only restaurant open, down on the Ohio River. We both had a fish dinner which was excellent, too much and cheap 👌
A little further down the road is Cave In Rock National Park. It’s just a cave on the banks of the Ohio but worth a visit.
After that across the river on the ferry to enter Kentucky
Just 25km up to Marion and the superb church hostel where we are the only guests tonight. We met the new Pastor (just started today!) and got settled in, went to the laundromat and bought fresh food for supper
