Riverside to Walden. 79.25km. 807m ascent. 4h08 ride time
Today we left our campsite for a gradual climb all day with just 1 decent hill. The road had been ground off for the first 6km so the surface was rough and the wind was against us 🥵

The road was pretty quiet but just before the state line we met a Dutch lady riding the TransAmerica Trail to Missoula before breaking away to head for Vancouver

We did get hit by a thunderstorm but made it to the nearest RV park where the manager allowed us to eat in the building while the storm passed

From there it was only another 15km to our destination. We plumed for the motel option for 2 reasons: 1 the storms were still round about. 2 the wind was up and the forecast was for near freezing temperatures in the night (we are at ~2,500m after all)
We went to visit the museum as we had made good time (and it was a shortish ride). The museum is superb with countless beautiful exhibits

The lady in charge suggested we stay at the Antlers Inn. They made us a very good price for a 2 story suite!

Across the road for supper and then to bed

Riverside was the most beautiful campsite on the route !
