Missoula to Darby 96km. 490m ascent
An easy and not particularly inspiring ride today, at least until we got onto the old Darby road after ~65km of riding a tarred but rough cycle track next to Highway 93
We picnicked off the highway with provisions bought on the road
At least today we had no rain for once and the temperature was Ok at around 6-10C
Once on the old Darby road we stoped in at the Red Barn Bike shop because I was looking for new warm and waterproof gloves. My waterproof gloves are not in the slightest bit waterproof and I seem to have lost my warm ones 🤬. Unfortunately I didn’t find what I needed but the owner was very kind and helpful.
Our destination was again a Warmshowers host Curtis Bunton in Darby. We have the entire upstairs of his house where he’s hosted over 500 cyclists. The most he ever had was 21!
Anyway we had the opportunity to take him out for dinner and get to know him better
