Following a good night’s sleep in our motel and good food at supper we set off just after 07:00 and it was the first morning under 20C since a long, long time.
A beautiful morning and again lots of hills, some pretty steep but none very long 👌
We stopped in Farmington, which was about half way, for a coffee at Coljak Café (good but over expensive 🤬)
Cool enough to sit outside to drink our coffee it made a worthwhile pause.
We thought we were lucky stumbling on a brewery en route but they were closed for another hour so no luck there 😢
We did come across a sign for home just before crossing the Mississippi 🤣
Once over the Mississippi we arrived in Chester and Illinois. Chester is the home of Popeye and we have a mini hostel where the toilet is 100m and the shower 50m away. But it has AC.
Here at the hostel, we met Bill who is riding his own route and has taken a day off today
As there was a barber shop made out of an old railway wagon just across the car park I decided to get a haircut
Dinner was fish in the place just next to the hostel and a very good fish dinner it was
