I bought an Audi Q4 e-tron ( fully electric car) to replace my Land Rover Defender TD4 and VW T-roc
The Q4 was great, all the mod-cons of which the matrix lights and virtual reality HUD are the best but I had a problem…..
One morning it decided not to work. Nothing. Just able to select neutral, no power steering, nothing worked
I called my garage and he came before 08:00, downloaded the error files and sent them to Audi.
‘Ah yes we have had a couple of cases like this, you will need to remove the high volt battery to repair it!’
Got the car picked up and carried to Mais-Glandien in Pronsfeld , no worries, all under guarantee.
7 weeks later Audi were able to find the cause of the problem and fix it: short circuit in the front drive motor!
Mais-Glandien have an excellent reputation as an top Audi / VW garage but Audi don’t seem to be able to provide any decent diagnostic tools. The mechanic had to mail (not possible to call) and wait for a reply ‘Try this…’ and if that didn’t work, another mail etc…. In these 7 weeks we did have the Christmas holidays but even so, for a new car (15,000km) to be stuck in the garage so long is not what you expect from a ~65,000€ Audi.
