A beautiful morning and again lots of hills, some pretty steep but none very long \ud83d\udc4c<\/p>\n\n\n\n We stopped in Farmington, which was about half way, for a coffee at Coljak Caf\u00e9 (good but over expensive \ud83e\udd2c)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cool enough to sit outside to drink our coffee it made a worthwhile pause. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We thought we were lucky stumbling on a brewery en route but they were closed for another hour so no luck there \ud83d\ude22<\/p>\n\n\n\n We did come across a sign for home just before crossing the Mississippi \ud83e\udd23<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once over the Mississippi we arrived in Chester and Illinois. Chester is the home of Popeye and we have a mini hostel where the toilet is 100m and the shower 50m away. But it has AC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Here at the hostel, we met Bill who is riding his own route and has taken a day off today <\/p>\n\n\n\n As there was a barber shop made out of an old railway wagon just across the car park I decided to get a haircut <\/p>\n\n\n\n Dinner was fish in the place just next to the hostel and a very good fish dinner it was <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" 104.58km. 1,027m ascent. 5h02 ride time Following a good night\u2019s sleep in our motel and good food at supper we set off just after 07:00 and it was the first morning under 20C since a long, long time.
