Train down to from Seattle to Kelso where we jumped on our bikes to follow the Highway 30 to Astoria. We planned to use some of the side roads to avoid traffic but they were more hilly and not always sealed so in the end we stuck to highway. There was a lot of traffic, but American drivers are generally very accommodating for cyclists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once in Kelso it was Highway 30 towards Astoria. I planned to take some byroads but they turned out to be hilly and not always paved. Hard work, so we stick pretty much to the Highway <\/p>\n\n\n\n
