Shimano SH MW-80 Winter MTB shoes

Date purchased: 11.2009

Where purchased: H&S Bike Discount

Amount paid: 134.95€

Fed up with cold and wet feet I decided to abandon my neoprene overshoes and invest in some proper winter MTB shoes.  I wanted decent insulation and they needed to be waterproof.

Positive Points:

Water proof  Warm Enough space for thick socks Neoprene cuff around the ankle

Negative points:

A bit too wide at the ball of the foot.

What Shimano say about it:

  • Full grain leather high-top design covers ankles to protect foot from debris, and keep feet warm
  • Insulated GORE-TEX(R) DURATHERM(R) liner keeps water out and still allows the foot to breathe for maximum comfort
  • Built with wide last to balance fit for thicker socks
  • Water sealing PU coated neoprene booty
  • Complete seam-sealed construction for optimal weather protection
  • High visibility reflectors on rear and side of shoes
  • Off-set straps prevent pressure points
  • Aggressive lightweight sole delivers excellent traction and mud clearance
