Skidder competition in France

_DSC2480Here is the official video of the log skidding competition we entered with our new Tigercat 610C Mountain Edition. Really well made film and Tigercat came 3rd even though our driver, borrowed from Clohse JP & Söhne is not used so cable skidding and had only driven the machine for 10 hours before the competition!

Good-bye Ortis

LH845C harvester with telescopic boom

After almost 9 years in the Export Sales at Ortis I have decided to leave and take a new, well return to an old passion actually, direction.  I have joined the Clohse Group as Technical Manager.

We are setting up a new business unit importing and selling forestry machinery.  The Clohse brothers have been in the forestry business for nearly 40 years and about 23 years ago I helped build up the very first de-limber from Harricana.  Everyone who knows me knows my love of mechanical and all technical things so the step was pretty much a logical one to make even though I really enjoyed my job at Ortis.

We are the authorized dealer for the Canadian manufacturer Tigercat in a part for France, all BeNeLux and Germany.  These are the absolute top of the class machines with particular attention to the safety and comfort of the operator.  I am really looking forward to this new challenge, we have a great team and a bright future.

Paris

Arrived on Paris this afternoon to join my Estonian clients for 2 days of sightseeing and good times
Our hotel is a little out of town but with easy connections to the centre. Our bus driver from the airport to the hotel was too lazy to get out of the bus to meet us! The hotel is OK. The receptionist was very helpful.
Tomorrow we will have dinner a boat cruise on the Seine. I hope the captain is not too lazy to dock before we have to embark 😉
